  33.   Just like what they did with the Video Toaster.  Sell it initially
  34. relatively cheap, make a very effective upgrade, raise the price but let
  35. current owners upgrade very competitively.

  37.   Another Toaster comparison:  Montage 24/Toaster-Postscript lists for
  38. around $900, while the Toaster it "plugs in" is about $2300, $1000 of
  39. which is Lightwave.  I think that good quality plug-ins will be salable
  40. at prices which are a substantial fraction of Lightwave itself, possibly
  41. even higher that Lightwave.

  43.   If you think of Lightwave like an OS for 3D, you can think of the
  44. plugins as being like buying software to run on your OS.  Typical
  45. software packages cost more than the OS itself.
